Ready for Storm Football - Esume: "The team from Copenhagen is getting serious"
Nordic American football is about to enter a new era. The newly founded franchise Nordic Storm, from Denmark and Sweden, is about to start its first season in the European League of Football. To make sure it is successful, Storm is working hardly on their new roster.
ELF commissioner Patrick Esume was already expecting this kind of spectacular offseason from Storm- “The ownership group is very professional and actually has a history in American football. You notice that immediately in their approach,” he praised in an interview with the German TV channel ”ProSieben.”
Esume describes Nordic Storm as a very organized franchise, both in terms of the business and the football department. “I noticed that immediately in all the meetings and then also when I was in Copenhagen.”

That professionalism is now also visible in the signings. At the beginning of November, Storm made headlines when they signed the current MVP Glen Toonga and the current Championship Game MVP Jadrian Clark. Toonga, the best running back in the league, and Clark, one of the best quarterbacks in ELF, will wear a Nordic jersey in the future.
With All-Star O-lineman Joachim Christensen, star safety Chad Walrond and pass rusher Max Parkinson, other well-known players have been added. Storm also knows how to expand his team with experienced homegrowns like linebacker Ludvig Myrén and promising homegrowns like Jakob Green.
“There were a lot of splash signings, from the head coach to the League MVP, Championship MVP. It's all there,” recaps Esume. He is convinced: “The team from Copenhagen is getting serious.”
