All-Star OL Joachim Christensen un-retires to join the Nordic Storm
The Nordic Storm continue to gather talent for the 2025 season, signing former All-Star center Joachim Christensen. After taking last season off he will return to the playing field, this time joining the Nordic Storm
Christensen retired in 2023 following a long career that included two ELF Championships, one with Frankfurt Galaxy in 2021 and one with Rhein Fire in 2023. Overall, he played a total of three seasons in the ELF, in which he made the All-Star team every year. Now the Dane will be playing for his hometown team in Copenhagen, reunited with former teammates Glen Toonga and Jadrian Clark.
"Opponents, seek shelter. I'm back to be part of a strong Football Program and the mission. The only goal is to win in Europe with a northern spirit and a berserker mindset", announces Christensen.
Now he joins his father Palle Navntoft Christensen, who will be the Nordic Storm’s general manager. The two will take on a new meaning of “Football is family” as they try to build up the Storm franchise from the playing field and the front office.
Christensen’s worldwide football journey began as a member of the Avedøre Monarchs in his home country. From there, he took his talents stateside, playing for Algonac High School in Michigan and then NCAA Div.1 FCS Wagner University in New York. Following his time in college football, Christensen joined the Danish powerhouse Copenhagen Towers, winning the 2017 and 2018 Mermaid Bowl championships.
In 2019, his journey took him to Frankfurt. Here he played for Universe, who became Frankfurt Galaxy when the team joined the ELF.
Head coach John Schoop and the Nordic Storm have been dominating the news cycle this off-season, signing the reigning MVPS and back-to-back champions Jadrian Clark and Glen Toogna. Earlier this week, they also added talented defensive back Chad Walrond.
