Nordic Storm sign defensive Star Chad Walrond

Nordic Storm surprises its fans with the next big name. After MVP Gleen Toonga and Championship Game MVP Jadrian Clark have already joined the young franchise, the first big-name defensive player has now arrived.

"I really hope that you’re all ready and excited. We do not plan on starting slow, but we’re going to need the energy from every single one of you to help us achieve greatness”, explains Walrond.

Safety Chad Walrond is leaving Stuttgart Surge and will play for Nordic Storm in the upcoming season. The league newcomer therefore secures an experienced player. Walrond has been playing in the ELF since 2022. He made his debut for the Cologne Centurions. He then moved to Stuttgart in 2024.

Last season he recorded 48 tackles, one sack, three interceptions and one pass deflection for the Surge. In the North, the 25-year-old Briton will meet fellow countryman Gleen Toonga. A special connection. After all, the two share an apartment in London.

Last season, the roommates faced each other in the semi-finals. Next season, they will be playing for the same team.
