Athletic with a great downhill drive! The Berlin Thunder have signed linebacker Rayan Khefif who will likely be playing middle or strongside linebacker for the Thunder in the upcoming European League of Football season. He immediately replaces Wael Nasri who signed to play for the Frankfurt Galaxy and was the leading tackler in the European League of Football in 2021.

With the addition of players like Kyle Kitchens or French athletes like Maceo Beard and Stanley Zeregbe, the team keeps improving with quality players. The 24-year-old Khefif started to play football in France for the Flash La Courneuvre, transferring to play for the New Mexico Military Insitute Junior College in 2019. In his last two seasons with the Flash, he managed to make a name for himself.

With now 17 players signed, the Thunder are not as far in their roster-building-process as other teams, but they managed to put a solid core on the list. After the engagement of Björn Werner as co-owner and sports director, the Thunder look like a entirely new organization. Rayan could be another player to watch out for in the upcoming season.

Thunder head coach Johnny Schmuck commented on signing the French linebacker: "Rayan will strengthen our defense as a linebacker. Another top player we were able to sign. He is a perfect fit for our team and is absolutely fired up for the European League of Football season. I am really looking forward to seeing him in action."
