The Frankfurt Galaxy sign former Berlin Thunder inside linebacker and 2021 tackle leader Wael Nasri to their team for the 2022 season, as the team reported.

“First I want to thank [head] coach Thomas Kösling for bringing me to Frankfurt. I’m excited to join the Galaxy organization, looking forward to meet the coaches, my teammates [and] the fans as well”, Nasri commented on joining reigning European League of Football champion. He added: “I can’t wait to get to work and I’m ready for the upcoming challenge”.

Nasri led the entire European League of Football in its inaugural season with 141 total tackles in ten games played. So, the French inside linebacker averaged 14.1 tackles per game for the Thunder and was a run-stopping force. He also recorded eleven tackles for loss, four sacks, four pass breakups, and even blocked a field goal.

Now, the 180cm tall and 105kg heavy linebacker joins forces with the Galaxy defense which makes head coach Thomas Kösling more than excited: “We can announce an absolute top addition to our team in Wael Nasri. Next to playing in the European League of Football All-Star game, he led the league in tackles last year. He will definitely make our defense stronger”, Kösling comments on signing Nasri. With Gauthier and Nasri signed to contracts, the Galaxy are set to have one of the best linebacker duos in the European League of Football this upcoming summer.
