Two starters and a backup - Galaxy keep O-Line trio
Frankfurt Galaxy are facing an exciting season. After disappointing seasons, the team from Frankfurt want to return to the success of the old days. To accomplish this, the contract of quarterback Matthew McKay has already been extended.
To ensure that he is well protected, the Galaxy have now extended the contracts of three offensive linemen.
Firstly, Frank Atunlese, a part of the Galaxy since day one, signed a new contract. The Homegrown came to Frankfurt from the Giessen Golden Dragons back in 2021. He became ELF Champion in 2021 and earned himself a place in the starting O-Line. “Respect is earned. Respect is never given. It’s time to get our Respect back”, says Atunlese about his extension.
Here you can also find Matej Bencek. The 24-year-old Homegrown made his ELF debut in 2022 for the Cologne Centurions. He signed with Galaxy in 2023. In his three years in the league, Bencek has already started 33 games. With the contract extension, more are likely to follow. “I’m really looking forward to my third year in purple hell and can’t wait to play in front of the best fans in Europe for another year”, explains the O-Liner.
Justin Keaton, on the other hand, is a promising backup. Like Atunlese, the 25-year-old began his career with the Giessen Golden Dragons. He then moved to the Galaxy last season. Now the Homegrown stays as well. “I‘m extremely grateful for another opportunity to represent the city of 069!", he says. Keaton adds: "I’m looking forward to a season with my brothers and the best fans in the league. Let’s run back!”
