Playoff Picture after Week 13: Who's In and Who's Not?
We’ve completed thirteen weeks of the 2024 European League of Football regular season, and it's been quite a ride. So, let's take a look at the current playoff picture.
1) Vienna Vikings (12-0):
The Vienna Vikings celebrated a perfect regular season with their Week 13 victory against the Enthroners. With their second bye-week in Week 14, they’ve secured the top playoff seed. This not only gives them a bye in the wildcard round but also guarantees home-field advantage in the semifinals.
2) Rhein Fire (11-1):
Rhein Fire also wrapped up their regular season with another win in Week 13 and will now enjoy their second bye-week. Although currently holding the second playoff seed, Rhein Fire still needs to wait and see if Stuttgart Surge overtakes them. A win by the Surge in Week 14 would drop Rhein Fire to the third seed, costing them a direct spot in the semifinals.

Munich Ravens (#6) at Stuttgart Surge (#3):
The Munich Ravens easily defeated the Helvetic Mercenaries. Despite the win, they dropped one spot in the standings due to losing the tiebreaker to the Raiders Tirol. Stuttgart Surge also secured a win, putting them back on track. If they win against the Helvetic Mercenaries in Week 14, they could climb to the second playoff seed, earning a bye in the wildcard round and avoiding the Ravens for now.
Raiders Tirol (#5) at Paris Musketeers (#4):
Both teams had successful outings in Week 13. The Raiders Tirol not only re-entered the playoff picture but also leapfrogged the Munich Ravens thanks to the tiebreaker. Their Week 14 matchup against the Ravens is crucial, as a loss could knock them out of the playoffs. For Paris Musketeers, things remain steady. They are currently the home team for the wildcard round, but a loss in Week 14 could cost them home-field advantage, as both the Raiders and Ravens could still overtake them.
After their narrow loss to the Paris Musketeers, the Madrid Bravos have fallen out of the playoff spots. This loss could be more costly than expected, as even a Week 14 win against the Hamburg Sea Devils might not be enough to secure a playoff spot. With the direct matchup between the Raiders Tirol and Munich Ravens, the Bravos could tie with one of these teams but may lose out due to tiebreakers, leaving them out of the playoffs.
