OTAs on the way: This is how YOUR team prepares for the Pre-Season

The European League of Football starts its season in June. Until then, teams need to prepare for a long ride.

American Football in Europe is already on the way. Teams and coaches are preparing for the upcoming season with Organized Team Activities all over the continent. While the Pre-Season will not begin until the start of May, all the local talents are being prepared for June 3rd.

In several European cities, the off-season went quiet for a long time. Whereas in Cologne, the Centurions already parted ways with their head football coach Kahlil Carter. Newly assigned head coach and offensive coordinator Christos Lambropoulos took over for Carter, while it is still not certain if he will remain head coach next to being the OC. Nonetheless, Lambropoulos knows how to coach a team, being honored German Football League coach of the year in 2021. Despite all the difficulties, the Centurions already started their practice with pads to prepare for Paris at home on June 3rd. With Jan Weinreich retiring, local quarterback Alex Frisch leads the offense until the start of the pre season and the arrival of quarterback Daniel Smith.

In Barcelona, the team still searches for players to fill up their roster. On March 22nd, the last station on their combine tour in Spain and Portugal had been finished. In April, the Dragons will start their OTAs.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS YET?

First on field-workouts and day camps – next to lifting sessions – have taken place in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Wrocław, Vienna, Leipzig or Stuttgart. In Leipzig, even the players from different parts of Germany travelled to work out for their team. For the Paris Musketeers, OTAs are looking quite impressive as expected. With local talents like Stanley Zeregbe or Jason Befunda around, the off season starts with a good omen.

All franchises are expected to start their OTAs soon, with import players arriving in the last week of April. For them, practice starts with the official start of the pre season.
