MVP Race Update - One Week To Go

The 2024 ELF season has flown by as we are approachign Week 14 and final week of the regualr season this weekend. This season has featured so many amazing talents as the award races will be closer than in years past. With that being said, let's take a look at three MVP candidates as the season winds down.

TheFrontrunner: RB Glen Toonga - Rhein Fire

The “King” has lived up to the nickname this year and more carrying the Rhein Fire to a 11-1 record. Toogna has run for 1,578 yards and a staggering 30 touchdowns this season, setting a ELF new record for rushing scores. Simply put, whenever his team has called on him the 29-year old veteran has picked up the phone and moved the chains week in and week out, as he and Rhein Fire look like they are on a mission to defend their 2023 title.

The Runner Up: QB Ben Holmes - Vienna Vikings

Oftentimes in sports the MVP award goes to the quarterback of the best team. It's hard to say this isn’t Holmes as he’s helped lead the Vienna Vikings to a perfect 12-0 regular season record. Despite missing 3 games with an injury Holmes currently leads the league with 34 touchdown passes and only 5 interceptions.

The Underdog: QB Zachary Edwards - Paris Musketeers

The ELF’s All-time leading passer put together another impressive season statistically this year, throwing for 2,787 yards and 30 scores. However, the real “Magic” reveals itself when you look at Edwards rushing numbers this year, as he’s shown off a new level of toughness this year running the ball. Edwards is currently fifth in the league in rushing with 729 yards and 8 touchdowns, including the clutch TD run against Madrid last week. The win against Madrid helped Edwards and the Musketeers secure a playoff spot and a 9-2 record with one game left to go.
