Musketeers RB Chris Voumbo “I create a dome around myself and do my job"

After over a month on the road due to the Olympics in the French capital the Paris Musketeers finally returned home to Stade Jean-Bouin Stadium. In their homecoming the Musketeers punched their ticket to the playoffs with a 15-12 overtime win over the Madrid Bravos. Paris running back Chris Vuombo commented on the win:

“We were very excited to play at home again. We made some new fans and saw them mixing with the old fans and we got the win in front of them.”

The bruising tailback was able to pick up a key touchdown and move the chains in a game that resembled a flooded swamp as rain continued to pour down throughout the day.  The veteran ball carrier scored a touchdown and ran for 55 yards giving Paris’s offense a much needed boost on a field that made it extremely difficult to move the ball.

“This game was important because we are going to the playoffs. Despite the difficulties we stayed focused.”

Running back Chris Voumbo has been vital to the success of their offense recently rushing for 393 yards and 3 touchdowns in their last five games, taking a much bigger role in the Musketeers offense of late.

Voumbo is a well-traveled running back having played in Spain, Germany, and France. However, this year has been his best in the ELF rushing for 444 yards and 4 touchdowns so far with one game to go. The 26-year old credits his mental toughness and discipline for his success this season:

“The key to my success has been patience, work, and focus. I don’t listen to people who tell me I can’t do this. I just focus on my goals and my play. I create a dome around myself and do my job. “

The Musketeers could secure another home game for the playoffs and the number four overall seed with a win next week in Frankfurt.

Expect head coach Marc Mattioli to have his squad ready to go, and for Vuombo to continue his success against a Galaxy defense that gave up well over 200 yards rushing last week.
