Galaxy’s impactful additions – season goals uncertain

Frankfurt Galaxy’s recent signings, Jameson Wang and Bijon Harris, made a strong first appearance. Wang and his teammates put up 39 points against Stuttgart Surge, a team known for its strong defense. It was the highest point total Stuttgart has allowed all season. Nevertheless, Frankfurt was unable to leave the field as the winner, as the game ended 54-39 in favor of Stuttgart.
Wang impresses as dual threat
With Jameson Wang, Frankfurt Galaxy signed a young and talented American who immediately showed his potential. Although he has only been in Europe for a few days and had a short time to prepare, he apparently managed to establish a connection with his wide receivers. He played with confidence, attempted 62 passes, and recorded 348 passing yards along with three touchdowns.
Wang added another dimension to Frankfurt’s offense with his legs, rushing for 87 yards on 12 attempts – more than any of his teammates. Though he threw one interception and fumbled the ball once, he stayed focused and kept pushing to get his team back in the game. His ability to shake off mistakes and maintain his level of play was notable.

His strong performance also reflects the high level of athletic development in American college football. Wang, who played Division 1 college football at Cornell University in New York State, possesses excellent passing ability. Even on the move, he can deliver accurate throws. Combined with his willingness to run the ball himself – already evident in the game against Stuttgart – these skills make him a dual threat.
And it’s not just Frankfurt who is impressed by their new quarterback. Stuttgart Surge head coach Jordan Neuman also praised Wang after the game: "It was a very close game today with a lot of plays. We had some very short offensive drives and some defensive drives where we were actually on the field too long. That was mainly due to Frankfurt's quarterback, who played really well. His footwork and accuracy were impressive."
Harris proves his value
New cornerback Bijon Harris also delivered a strong performance. Harris, who already gained ELF experience last season with the Cologne Centurions, made an impressive comeback with a punt return touchdown. Just seconds before halftime, his score cut the deficit to 28-20 and brought new excitement to the game. The defensive back was rightfully celebrated by his teammates and the home crowd.

On defense, Harris had his side of the backfield under control and did not allow any points. However, he repeatedly had to watch how Stuttgart managed to score in other parts of the field and ultimately came away with the win.
Playoff chances fading
Although Frankfurt had set high goals before the season, it now appears they will miss their goal of reaching the playoffs. After Week 9, their record stands at 3-5 and while they still have a mathematical chance to make the playoffs, the odds are slim. Considering their remaining schedule – with Nordic Storm in Week 11, the Prague Lions in Week 12, and the Madrid Bravos in the final game of the season – it will be very difficult for them to make it.
Now, head coach Bart Andrus, Jamerson Wang, and the team need to focus on finishing the season with dignity. Andrus, who took over as head coach at the end of last year, was brought to Frankfurt because of his experience in various leagues, including the NFL and NFL Europe. The management hoped that his appointment would help the team return to the playoffs after missing out the previous season.
