Week 12 Takeaways – Galaxy are for real, Panthers back in the playoffs

There was a lot going on in the European League of Football this week! But what are the takeaways?

Week 12 of the regular season is in the books. Clear-cut wins and thrilling fourth-quarter endings were all part of the past weekend. But what are the major takeaways before the league head to Week 13?

Are the Panthers on the COME UP?

The Berlin Thunder were the hotter team coming into the matchup against the Panthers in Poland on Saturday. But the German franchise folded under the high expectations and lost against the Panthers by three points. For now, the Panthers are back in the playoffs and the Berlin Thunder were pushed out of the playoff picture.

As far as the Panthers are concerned, their defense stepped up against the Berlin Thunder. With the additions of former Leipzig Kings defenders A.J. Wentland and Williams James, the Panthers get better on defense every week! But will they be a team that has what it takes to reach the Championship Game? This may depend on American wide receiver Tony Tate who got injured early against Berlin Thunder and could miss some time. The Panthers have not yet gave any updated status about their wideout.

The Galaxy are FOR REAL!

The Frankfurt Galaxy managed to win their ninth game in a row. This time, they dominated the Milano Seamen at home at the PSD Bank Arena. Quarterback Jakeb Sullivan brought his A-game with five total touchdowns of which three came through the air and two on the ground. For now, it seems like the Galaxy secured a top three spot out of all teams for the first time this season. But how good are the Galaxy really? Their Week 14 matchup against Rhein Fire will tell. But they first meet the Sea Devils in Week 13 which come off a loss against the Paris Musketeers.

Enthroners WIN at home!

I know, the Fehérvár Enthroners are already eliminated from playoff contention this season. But they are coming off their third win since joining the European League of Football this year. This time, it was the Prague Lions once again. With a record of 3-7, the Enthroners find themselves amongst the weakest teams in the league this year. Nevertheless, the Enthroners never gave up this season and improved from week to week. And winning in the European League of Football is tough. So, great job by the Hungarian franchise to not give up and get another win late in the season!
