Week 11: Top Performer Sunday - Cologne QB Isaiah Weed

Today's ELF action featured several standout players with mentioning, starting out with Zach Ed who threw for six touchdowns in a nail-biting comeback win. Austin Mitchell scored four times for Paris, and other standouts include Carlos Hill of Cologne and Tomiwa Oyewo of Munich. However, I'm awarding the standout of the day to the engineer of one of the best comebacks in league history, Cologne Centurions quarterback Isaiah Weed.

Isaiah Weed and the Cologne Centurions pulled off one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the ELF. Cologne won after being down 21 late in the third quarter to defeat the Frankfurt Galaxy at home in overtime. The dramatic comeback was led by Weed and the Centurions opportunistic defense. However, Weed was the star of the second half throwing for 370 yards and four touchdowns on the day.

Third and long after third and long, Weed found a way to move the chains despite the odds, spreading the ball out to six different receivers. While he leaned heavily on import Carlos Hill, who finished the day with 16 catches for 205 yards and two touchdowns, Weed also went to the homegrown receivers when it mattered most finding Ben Froehlich and Jannick Loercks for clutch touchdowns at the end of the fourth quarter and again for the game-winner in overtime.

While his rushing stats are not award-worthy, the veteran quarterback's ability to extend plays and pick up first downs with his legs killed the Galaxy defense which was at his mercy for the second half. Weed has now made history giving Cologne their first-ever sweep of the rival Frankfurt Galaxy in ELF history.
