Vienna Vikings keep "cornerstone" Lukas Holub

Next resigning for the Vienna Vikings. After the Austrian team have already extended the contracts of a number of key players, Lukas Holub's contract has now also been renewed. The 22-year-old will continue to strengthen the Vikings' offensive line. Now he signs a new two-year contract.

Vikings head coach Chris Calaycay knows about Holub's value: "Lukas Holub has started almost every snap at Right Tackle since our franchise was founded. To say he is a cornerstone for the Vikings is an understatement. Incredible to have him back for the next two seasons."

The player is also happy to be able to stay with the team: "My Goals are definitely to continue where we left off and that is to keep building a Football power house in Europe. I know we fell short in the Championship game, but that doesn't diminish our drive and hunger to win." Holub feels very much at home:"The Vikings have a certain winner mentality and a strong brotherhood which made it an easy decision form e to stay in Vienna - not only for next season but also for 2026."

The Homegrown will enter his fourth ELF season with the team. As a tackle, Holub is part of the starting O-line. Last season, he started ten of the twelve regular season games. As well as two in the playoffs.
