Vienna Vikings announce Generali-Arena as stadium for home opener 2024

The Battle of Austria gets one of the best stages in Europe.

The Vienna Vikings will play their first home game of the season at the Generali-Arena. On June 1, head coach Chris Calaycay's team will host the Raiders Tirol in the modern, atmospheric setting of the stadium at the "Verteilerkreis". Individual tickets go on sale on Friday, February 9. The "Battle of Austria" gets one of the best stages in Europe.

Attractions on and off the field in Vienna

"We are thrilled to be playing the first home game of the 2024 season in the magnificent setting of the Generali-Arena. In the past two seasons, our home openers in this venue have already been very special and memorable football highlights of the entire year - far beyond the Austrian borders. The fact that the Vikings' first home game is also the 'Battle For Austria' against their long-time rivals from Tyrol adds even more spice to this matchday. We would be delighted if we could once again set a new home opener attendance record at the home game against the Raiders Tirol," said Lukas Leitner, General Manager of the Viennese franchise, adding: "We are already working hard on the attractions and highlights of the first home game on June 1, because we want to offer the thousands of visitors top-class entertainment and thrilling show elements again, in addition to first-class football."

Setting a new attendance record?

At the home opener last year, almost 6,900 fans celebrated a football party with the Vikings in the Generali-Arena. The play-off showdown between Vienna and Stuttgart in September even attracted 10,108 spectators to the Vienna Austria stadium, which not only set a new franchise record but was also - aside from the ELF Championship Game 2022 - the best-attended football game in Austria for 10 years. In two seasons in the ELF, the Vienna Vikings have won all duels against the Raiders. Nevertheless, this duel offers plenty of fight and passion.
