Unstoppable: Kitchens shines with outstanding performance

Kyle Kitchens has once again proven why he already has been named ELF Defensive Player of the Year three times. Against the Prague Lions, the 29-year-old American put in a brutal performance, racking up 10 tackles, including eight for loss and an impressive four sacks. The star of the Hamburg Sea Devils narrowly missed his single-game record of 4.5 sacks.

Although the defensive end was unable to prevent the narrow 14-19 defeat, he did not make it an easy day for opposing quarterback Javarian Smith and his running backs.

Together with his strong defensive line, the experienced DE generated powerful pressure. The Sea Devils' strong secondary also performed well, allowing only 100 passing yards. After his blockbuster transfer from the Berlin Thunder, Kitchens is settling in better and better. After week 6, the A-import can look back on 23 tackles, including eleven for loss and 5.5 sacks.

Kitchens is still far from his single-season sack record, which he set last season with 16.5 sacks. In Week 7, the Madrid Bravos (28th of June, 15:00 CET) await as the next challenge and opportunity for the defensive superstar.
