Tony Tate put IR while Wroclaw Panthers face Stuttgart Surge

The Wroclaw Panthers are travelling to the Stuttgart Surge in the Wildcard Round of the 2023 ELF Postseason. Now, only two days before the game, star wide receiver Tony Tate has been put on Injured Reserve, making him ineligable to compete in the first round of the playoffs. At the same time, the Panthers have activated former quarterback Mak Sexton, who was active for the Panthers in two games of this season.

Defensive leadership

Against a strong Surge defense, coached by defensive coordinator Johannes Brenner, the Panthers would do well to keep their offense variable. If it's a quarterback lining up at receiver or different quarterback sets, is in the hands of head coach Dave Christensen. A strong performance by their own defense could bring the Panthers, who made the semifinals in 2021, over the hump. With Solomon Brown back healthy and defensive leaders like AJ Wentland or Defensive Rookie of the Year nominee Timi Nuikka, the team could have what it takes.

A monster game

Offensively, the team relies on Matthew Vitale spreading the ball and standout Dawid Brzozowski making guys miss. On the other side, the city of Stuttgart could be hyped about the biggest game the franchise has faced in three years of existence.
