After failing to qualify for the playoffs this season, the Tirol Raiders are parting ways with head coach Kevin Herron. After being part of the coaching staff from 2011-2015 and from 2017-2019, Herron took over as head coach after the departure of Shuan Fatah. Under Herron, the Raiders won the 2021 Austrian Bowl and reached the European League of Football semi-final in 2022. In 2023, the Raiders went 8-4 for the second season in a row, but missed out on the playoffs, leading to the decision that Herron’s contract won’t be extended. 

“The Raiders thank coach Herron for his work and commitment of the past 10 years. Coach Herron always put the team and the Raiders first and will be part of our organization forever. We wish Kevin success for the future”, said Raiders general manager Ulz Däuber. 

The Austrians are now tasked with finding a replacement for their former head coach that can lead them back to the playoffs in 2024.
