It is clear from the coin toss that this football game is anything but normal. Although two of the best teams in the European League of Football are facing each other in the battle for the playoffs, the rivals greet each other warmly. There are also many familiar faces.

After an intense offseason and the announcement of the schedule, fans were particularly looking forward to this game. After all, many Rhein Fire players, including quarterback Jadrian Clark and the now injured Gleen Toonga, sought a new sporting challenge at Nordic Storm. Now, both teams are facing each other for the first time.

Rhein Fire (4-4) at Nordic Storm (7-0): 24:25

And Rhein Fire made life difficult for their former quarterback by greeting him with relentless pressure. With success. Clark gifted his old team with a pick-six after strong pressure from the defensive line. But Clark made an impressive comeback and, together with an outstanding defense, led his team to a narrow victory over the reigning champions.

It was an absolute nail-biter, which was only decided during the two-minute warning by a fumble. Turnover was a major factor. The ball changed hands six times. Three additional fumbles went unpunished.

Rhein Fire and quarterback Chad Jeffries played well, but made one mistake too many. With a record of 4-4, Fire takes a step back in the battle for the playoffs. Nordic Storm, on the other hand, remains the last undefeated team in the ELF this season.

In Week 10, Rhein Fire faces the 2-6 Hamburg Sea Devils. Nordic Storm plays Berlin Thunder, which won impressively against the Cologne Centurions.
