Alex Malchow

The Stuttgart Surge are looking to reload and retool their team this upcoming season as they hope to play in the championship game in front of their home fans in Stuttgart. Part of the strategy is bringing back homegrown backup quarterback Lars Heidrich.
2024 season
Heidrich, 23, played last season for the Surge throwing for 345 yards and 6 touchdowns and only one interception while completeing 23 of his 35 passes in mostly mop of duty, serving as the back up quarterback for Reilly Hennessey. The young german quarterback was named to the ELF's 2024 Homegrown Team.
A young veteran?
He has plenty of ELF experience having also played for the Frankfurt Galaxy in 2023 throwing for 585 yards and 7 touchdowns in relief of an injured Jakeb Sullivan.
Overall in his young career, Heirich has thrown for 930 yards, 13 touchdowns, and only three interceptions in 115 attempts. This makes him one of the more experienced German quaterbacks available. Prior to the ELF he played for the Saarland Hurricanes.
