The Helvetic Mercenaries add several coaches to their staff

The Helvetic Mercenaries continue to build up their team for 2025 this time adding several assistant coaches that will be helping our new head coach Marcus Herford this upcoming season. 

New WR coach

Joshua Fitzgerald will be the Mercenaries wide receivers coach, bringing with him playing experience from UAB (D1) as well as being the head coach of the Hannover Stampeders in Germany the past four seasons. The 35-year old will be coaching up a exiting group fo pass catchers that features “Rookie of the year” Milan Spiller and All-Star Aaron Jackson.

New special teams coordinator and LB coach

Dr. Drametrice Smith will be the Mercenaries linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. Smith has experience coaching in college football, spending time as the defensive coordinator for Edward Waters University as well as being head coach for Fort Lauderdale University. Most recently Smith was the head coach of the América Locomotiva Futebol Americano in Brazil. Smith was also part of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars coaching internship program. 

NFL experience comes to Switzerland

Last but not least the Mercenaries will be bringing in Nordly ‘Cap’ Capi as their defensive line coach. Capi played four seasons in the NFL from 2015-18 suiting up for the Giants, Cardinals, and Bills. He now brings that NFL experience to Switzerland as they hope to improve on last year's 1-11 record.
