Sunday Recap - Paris escape Berlin with a win, Munich dominate in Prague

Paris Musketeers (7-2) AT Berlin Thunder (4-6) 

Final: 40-37

The home team Thunder took advantage of a slow start from the Musketeers jumping out to a 13-0 lead behind a pair of scores from receiver Aaron Jackson. Paris responded with two quick big play touchdowns as Zach Edwards found speedy Austin Mitchell for a 40-yard touchdown then Anthony Mahoungou to make the score 14-16. 

However, Aaron Jackson continued his fantastic first half scoring a 38-yard touchdown before the half making it 23-14 at the break.

The second half opened with a big play as Edwards found Mitchell for another long touchdown pass on their first drive of the third quarter, making it only a two-point game. After forcing a punt, Edwards and the Musketeers marched down the field but had to settle for a short field goal after Kyle Kitchens made a clutch tackle for a loss. However, Berlin was punished with a penalty on the field goal giving Paris another shot at seven points with the ball inside the 10-yard line. Yet, Berlin's Kyle Kitchens made a huge hit forcing a fumble and giving Berlin possession. 

However, the Thunder gave the ball right back as Aaron Jackson fumbled the ball. Jason Aguemon and the Musketeers took the lead two plays later as the veteran made a tough catch in traffic to give Paris a 27-23 edge after Dupont missed the extra point. On the next possession, Berlin continued to make crucial mistakes giving up possession once again with another fumble. Paris's Austin Michtell took advantage of the mistake scoring his third touchdown of the day as Paris added to their lead making it 33-23. 

Edwards found Mitchell again for his fourth touchdown of the game. However, Jakeb Sullivan leads consecutive touchdown drives to cut the lead to three points 40-37 with 6:30 remaining, giving the ruckus home crowd something to cheer about. Edwards and the Paris run game were able to run down the clock and secure the crucial road victory. 

Munich Ravens (6-3) AT Prague Lions (0-10) 

Final: 47-14

The Munich Ravens took care of the business of the road as quarterback Chad Jeffries extended his excellent play recently completing 20 of 23 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns. The Ravens cruised to a 27-7 lead at the half as Jeffries found Marvin Rutsch and Tomiwa Oyewo for scores. Oyewo had three total touchdowns in the first half showing his versatility as a runner and receiver.

In the second half, Oyewo scored his fourth touchdown of the affair, as the Ravens continued to put on a show offensively, as they finished the day with 47 points and 485 total yards. Defensively the Ravens held the Prague Lions to 236 yards and forced one turnover.

Next week the Ravens will face off against the Barcelona Dragons at home while the Lioons will continue to look for their first win, this time in Hungary.
