Stuttgart Surge sign Kenyatte Allen as quarterback

After putting quarterback Reilly Hennessey on Injured Reserve and having had Jan Weinreich as the short-term replacement, Kenyatte Allen steps in for the Stuttgart Surge. “We knew from the beginning when Jan signed, that he would not be available during this time due to personal commitments made before he came out of retirement”, head coach Jordan Neuman said. With Kenyatte Allen in and previously signed US-wideout Darrell Stewart Jr., the Surge needs to make space in their roster on Wednesday afternoon.

"Unfortunately, the timing is not great due to last weekend’s result because my wish would be for Jan to get another opportunity with us. But we knew this was coming and are so thankful to Jan for stepping in and helping lead us on such short notice. Jan is one of the best National QBs to ever play, and it was great working with him the last three weeks. Moving forward, we are very happy to have Kenyatte step in for us in this situation. We have coached against Kenyatte in the past and are very aware of what he is capable of. I’m looking forward to working with him and getting him ready to lead us at home in Gazi Stadion on Sunday!" Allen had four touchdowns, five interceptions and 740 yards passing in five games with the Kings. Can he turn up his production for the Surge?
