Two important signings for the Surge before New Year's Eve. With Simon Butsch and Alexander Kreß, the vice Champion gets back two important defensive linemen that helped them reach the final in 2023. While Butsch served in some defensive packages under defensive coordinator Johannes Brenner, Kreß was starting at defensive tackle. With one sack and seven tackles for loss, Kreß had a major impact in the run defense, while also forcing pressure on the opposing quarterback. Both will join the Surge for a second year.

Major success in their first season

For Kreß, last season was part of a development that he would like to continue with the Stuttgart Surge:   "Step by step, training by training, game by game.  I believe in the new culture at the Stuttgart Surge and believe in the development. I'm looking forward to being a part of it."
After learning to play football with the Albershausen Crusaders from 2011 to 2016 and ball and was able to celebrate several promotions at association level, he was in 2017 by the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns and played very successfully in the GFL.
