The Stuttgart Surge continue to retool their roster in preparation for the 2025 season. Head coach Jordan Neuman brings back two defensive homegrowns from last year that hope to make another run at the title, especially with the 2025 ELF championship played in Stuttgart.
Luca Siebert hopes to build on strong 2024
The 24-year old linebacker had his best season in the ELF last year with 46 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 6.5 tackles for a loss starting nine games for the Surge on a defense loaded with talent. With the experience of more snaps in 2024 behind him, the Surge have high hopes for the 189 cm and 94 kg linebacker in 2025.
Mbala returns for year 5
The veteran linebacker has been with the Surge through the good times and bad suiting up in over 50 games. The 26-year old has 82 career tackles for the Surge, along with 2.5 sacks. Last season he put up 19 tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss helping his hometown team to the semi-finals.
The 175 cm and 89 kg linebacker came to the Surge from the Stuttgart Scorpions where he was defensive player of the year in 2017.
