Passing game: Accuracy vs. Volume

Stuttgart’s quarterback Reilly Hennessey has been one of the most efficient passers in the league. In Munich, he threw for 296 yards with 2 touchdowns, while at home he added 220 yards and a rushing score without an interception. His completion rate stayed high in both games, above 67%.

For Munich, Russell Tabor provided more volume but also more risk. Across both matchups, he passed for 467 total yards and 7 touchdowns, but he also threw 4 interceptions. While his deep connections with Malik Stanley and Philip Okonkwo were dangerous, turnovers proved costly.

Rushing attack: Ravens’ ground power

The Ravens relied heavily on their run game. In Munich, they rushed for 228 yards, led by Tabor himself (112 yards) and running back Justin Rodney (98 yards). In Stuttgart, they added another 164 yards on the ground, showing consistent power.

Stuttgart struggled more in the rushing game. They managed 108 yards in Stuttgart and 109 yards in Munich, with Tomiwa Oyewo as their most reliable option. The Surge average just under 3 yards per carry in the home game, which limited their ability to control the clock.

Defensive stats: Big plays decide games

Both defenses had their moments. In Munich, Stuttgart’s defense forced 3 interceptions, including a 43-yard return by Mitchell Fettig. At home, Raheem Simiram-Wilson added another interception return for 32 yards.

Munich’s defense, meanwhile, leaned on tackling volume – with 79 total tackles in Stuttgart – and playmakers like Hiswill Awuah and Wael Nasri. But they forced fewer turnovers compared to Stuttgart.

Efficiency: Time of possession and third downs

In Munich, the Ravens dominated possession with 38 minutes to Stuttgart’s 21. In Stuttgart, it was closer, but the Surge edged ahead with 32 minutes vs. 27.

On third downs, both teams were solid: Surge converted 56% at home, while Ravens hit 53% in Munich. These small margins highlight how balanced the matchups have been.

Conclusion

The stats underline the story of this rivalry: Munich brings a strong running game and big-play ability through the air, while Stuttgart focuses on passing efficiency and defensive turnovers. Both teams have already proven they can beat each other – and another close battle can be expected when they meet again.
