Sea Devils sign Jarvis McClam and Javarian Smith for the offense

Before christmas, the Sea Devils have found two offensive weapons! Quarterback Javarian Smith and wide receiver Jarvis McClam were signed for 2024. Smith most recently played for the Allgäu Comets, where he threw for 44 touchdowns and 3494 yards in 12 games and added nine more scores via the run. The Michigan native brings physicality and a good arm.

"It means a lot to me to be able to represent the city of Hamburg and the Sea Devils in the ELF. It is truly a blessing for me and I am grateful to the organization and Coach Johnson for this opportunity. I'm looking forward to working with this group and competing for a championship," said Smith, who has big plans for the Sea Devils.

Adding a known face

Unlike Smith, McClam was already active in the ELF last year. With the Raiders Tirol, the 91-kg US receiver caught eight touchdowns in eight games and also stood out as an outstanding returner. "Becoming a Sea Devil means everything to me. Being part of a brotherhood to achieve our ultimate goal is all I've ever wanted. And now is the time!" says the 29-year-old.

"These two types of players are exactly what we were looking for. They bring a new dimension to our offense," says Head Coach Matt Johnson and is complemented by Sports Director Miguel Boock: "Javarian and Jarvis have it all: Explosiveness, athleticism and the ability to turn every play into a touchdown. The fans can look forward to some spectacular football!"
