Rhein Fire sign former German Seattle Seahawks pro Aaron Donkor

It’s one of the biggest signings of the recent ELF off-season. Rhein Fire have signed former Seattle Seahawks pro player Aaron Donkor. The outside linebacker is set to play his first season in the ELF in 2024. Born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, Donkor's journey to becoming a rising star in the German world of American football is nothing short of remarkable. From humble beginnings as a young pro basketball player to catching the attention of scouts, his story is one of perseverance, determination, and raw talent. Starting his journey at the Düsseldorf Panthers in 2016, the 109 kg heavy and 1,85 m athletic freak received a scholarship of the New Mexico Military Institute and later Arkansas State University. In December 2020, the young German was recruited by the Seattle Seahawks through the NFL’s IPP-Program.

Until 2022, Donkor was a part of the Seahawks’ Practice Squad. As he progressed through the ranks, his talent became increasingly undeniable. Blessed with a rare combination of speed, strength, and agility, he quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with on the gridiron – posting a sub 4,5 40-yard dash in 2022. After a short stint in the XFL in 2023, Donkor returns to Europe, joining the Championship Game winner 2023.
