Ravens win thriller against Stuttgart Surge

The Munich Ravens win the tight heat battle at Sportpark Unterhachingen. Both teams were evenly matched for most of the game, with the decisive moments coming only 12 seconds before the end.

Munich takes the lead, Stuttgart responds
The first quarter was evenly balanced. Although Munich's offense spent more time on the field, both teams managed to score a touchdown followed by a successful extra point. Wide receiver Malik Stanley found the end zone for Munich, while Michael Harley Jr. scored for Stuttgart.

Munich opened the second quarter in impressive fashion. Their second touchdown came on a trick play: quarterback Russell Tabor passed to wide receiver Malik Stanley, who then threw a deep pass into the end zone, where tight end Philip Okonkwo made the catch. Stuttgart answered with a scoring drive of their own. Reilly Hennessey pass to the middle to Louis Geyer for 20 yards for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to 13–14. However, the extra point attempt failed. Munich had a chance to extend their lead just before halftime, but a promising drive was cut short by a Stuttgart interception in the final seconds of the second quarter.
Stuttgart fights back but can’t tie
The Munich Ravens came out of halftime stronger and extended their lead to 13–21. Stuttgart answered right away with a touchdown, but couldn’t tie the game as all players were well covered on the two-point attempt. Scoring became difficult for both sides in the following minutes of the third quarter.
Showdown in the final quarter
With 15 Minutes to go, the Munich Ravens led by two. A strong run by RB Kai Hunter set up Stuttgart’s first lead of the game, as he carried the ball all the way to the one-yard line. Quarterback Reilly Hennessey punched it in on the next play, putting Surge ahead 26–21. After that, the lead seemed to change hands every minute. Both teams combined for 29 points in the final quarter. The game was decided with 12 seconds remaining when Russell Tabor – who made some big plays in the final quarter – threw a touchdown pass to Philip Okonkwo. The successful extra point made the final score 33–36. Stuttgart tried everything to score in the final seconds but came up short, allowing Munich to secure the home win.

What comes next
With this late win, Munich defends their lead in the fiercely contested South Division. Next week, the Munich Ravens will face the strong Madrid Bravos in their first crucial divisional matchup of the season. Stuttgart Surge, meanwhile, will host the Fehérvár Enthroners, who have shown solid performances in recent weeks but are still searching for their first win.
