Just days before their first semi-final appearance in franchise history, the Munich Ravens have made a major decision. The team has extended the contract of Head Coach Kendral Ellison for two more years.
Ellison took over the Ravens in the 2024 season and immediately led them to the playoffs in his first year, although they fell short in the Wild Card Round. After making roster changes in the offseason, Ellison proved himself once again as head coach in 2025. This year, his team went a step further, winning the highly competitive South Division and finishing with an 11-1 record, which secured the No. 2 seed and a direct ticket to the semi-finals.
Ravens built on tough defense
Ellison had already impressed in the league as defensive coordinator of the Hamburg Sea Devils, where his coaching talent caught attention. The Ravens brought him in, and he has since implemented his defensive philosophy in Munich. Under his leadership, the Ravens have become one of the league’s toughest defenses.
This season, they rank 7th in points allowed, a strong result considering the difficulty of their schedule, and own the 3rd best rush defense, establishing themselves as a physically dominant team.
Looking ahead
With Ellison’s extension, the Ravens have secured continuity and stability for the coming years. His leadership and defensive mindset have shaped the team’s identity and success, making the franchise a consistent contender. As the Ravens prepare for their first-ever semi-final, fans can look forward to an exciting future with Ellison at the helm.
