Raiders Tirol face mixed 2025 season
Felix Pahl

The Raiders Tirol had a challenging 2025 season. After finishing 2024 with a positive 8-4 record, hopes were high to build on that success. But the team could not keep the same level and ended the season with a 6-6 record. With only two wins against teams with a winning record, the Raiders struggled to compete with their South Division rivals and often came up short in direct matchups.
Strength in the run game
One of the biggest positives for Tirol was their running back group. With players like Tobias Bonatti, Lukas Haslwanter, Tim Tonko, Philipp Timmermann, and Jan Wiesauer, the Raiders built the third-best rushing offense in the league with 2,337 rushing yards. Their red zone efficiency was also excellent, scoring on 79.07% of their trips - the second-best rate in the ELF. A strong offensive line played a key role, not only supporting the running game but also allowing just 17 sacks, the fifth-fewest in the league. Tirol also finished with the third-best turnover ratio, showing discipline and efficiency in key moments.

Struggles in the air
The passing offense, however, was a clear weakness. With only 2,027 passing yards, the Raiders ranked 12th in the ELF. A completion percentage of just 53.41% highlighted the struggles through the air. In many other statistical categories, Tirol was only average, often stuck in the lower middle of the table. These gaps in production prevented them from keeping up with playoff-level competition.
Solid foundations remain
Despite the ups and downs, the Raiders still have important building blocks for the future. Their offensive line and talented running backs give them a reliable foundation. On defense, too, several players stood out with strong performances across the year.
Changes ahead
So far, the Raiders Tirol have not announced many roster moves or staff decisions for the coming season. The one major change is the departure of head coach Jim Herrmann, who had led the team since 2023. With his NFL and college background, Herrmann was an important figure in the team’s development, and replacing him will be a key challenge for the Raiders moving forward.
