Raiders and Galaxy secure narrow wins
In their last game, the Mercenaries suffered a heavy loss to the Munich Ravens and lost their American playmakers on offense. Facing the Raiders Tirol, another team aiming for the playoffs, it seemed like another tough match was ahead for the Mercenaries. However, they showed their strength and managed to compete well against a potential playoff team. The new offensive duo of wide receiver Terryon Robinson and quarterback DeAndre Clayton clicked immediately. Robinson caught passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns, showing great chemistry between them. Despite their good performance, it wasn't enough to beat the Raiders. The close halftime score of 25-28 was expanded by the Raiders, led by their quarterback who excelled with four total touchdowns and 279 total yards. In the fourth quarter, K’Kosi Perry remained focused and made strong plays under pressure, including a decisive 13-yard rushing touchdown that sealed the game.
The Mercenaries face another tough game in Week 11 against the undefeated Vienna Vikings, who are looking to extend their winning streak. The Raiders will have their second bye week in Week 11.
In an exciting Western Conference duel, the Frankfurt Galaxy narrowly defeated the Hamburg Sea Devils. The hard-fought game was a thriller until the end. The previously perfect D’Angelo Fulford threw an interception that was caught by Simeon Gabriel and returned for a touchdown, deciding the game. Standout players included Sandro Platzgummer, who ran for over 100 yards and a touchdown, and Markell Castle, who had 153 receiving yards. Galaxy quarterback Matthew McKay also shined with his dual-threat ability. He threw for nearly 250 yards and a touchdown and ran for over 100 yards and another touchdown.
In Week 11, the Hamburg Sea Devils will travel to face the Madrid Bravos in another Western Conference matchup. The Frankfurt Galaxy will also have a conference game as they face the Cologne Centurions again, whom they played in Week 8.
