Prague Lions HC Dan Disch will step down at the end of the season
Head coach of the Prague Lions Dan Disch will step down effective at the end of the season. The Prague Lions thanked coach Disch for role in the team and his service to the squad for the past five years. Disch will remain with the Prague Lions in a organizational role moving forward.
"We are proud to have him continue with the team in a new organizational role, ensuring his legacy and influence remain part of our future. Since joining the Prague Lions in 2019, Coach Dan Disch's impact has been immediate and profound. His leadership on defense was instrumental in securing two Czech championships.
When the team faced tough times upon joining the ELF in 2023, he stepped up as Interim Head Coach, guiding us through challenges with unwavering resolve.
In 2024, Coach Disch has led and reshaped our team's culture, setting a strong foundation for our future in the European League of Football.
Thank you, Coach Disch, for your dedication, vision, and the lasting football culture you've left not only with the Prague Lions but within the Czech American football community."
Prior to joining the ELF, Disch helped the Lions win two titles in the Czech league. The experienced assistant took over as the interim head coach in 2023 helping to stabilize a Lions after the departure of Zach Harrod in Week 9 of 2023. This season the former D1 defensive coordinator helped Prague make history win its first ever ELF game defeating the Enthroners in Week 12.
Coach Disch will coach the will coach the Lions through thier final game this Sunday against Wroclaw.
