Power Ranking – Rhein Fire back on top, Raiders crack Top 5

A power ranking has each team ranked according to their current strength. After Week 12, the European League of Football is getting closer and closer to the playoffs. Who slides down and who moves up

Let’s see where I rank each team going into Week 13 of the 2024 season and why!

Previous Ranking: 2

Rhein Fire are back where they feel most comfortable, at the top. Heading into the last two weeks of the 2024 season, the reigning champions are back on top and are going into the postseason as the title favorite once again. But will they be able to stop the Thunder in Week 13, a team that has nothing to lose?

The Stuttgart Surge fall, the Vikings rise. I know the Vikings enjoyed their bye week, but as the Surge have to fall after their turnover-heavy matchup against the Raiders Tirol, the Vikings jump up one spot in my ranking prior to Week 13.

Previous Ranking: 1

I know I still ranked the Surge above the Raiders after their Week 12 loss to the Austrian franchise. But let me tell you this, the Surge would never lose a rematch. A turnover margin of -4 is more than uncharacteristic for the German franchise and last year’s runner-up. Despite the turnovers, they still managed to make it a three-point game and almost won it at the end.

Previous Rank: 6

The Raiders did the impossible. They knocked my number one team off the throne. With an almost flawless game on offense, the Austrian franchise was able to put together a well-balanced game with ZERO turnovers. If they can keep this up, the Raiders will be a scary team in the playoffs.

Previous Ranking: 5

The Musketeers stay at number five, although they were able to dominate the Cologne Centurions. However, the Centurions were on a rollercoaster the entire season. This win should not be ranked too high, but also not too low. This French team stays dangerous.

Previous Rank: 7

The Munich Ravens handled business against the Barcelona Dragons. But are they ready to clinch a spot in the playoffs? Only time will tell. But their Week 13 matchup against the Helvetic Mercenaries is crucial to be in the best-possible position when they meet the Raiders Tirol in Week 14.

Previous Ranking: 5

The Bravos lost against the Frankfurt Galaxy. Just like the Centurions, the Galaxy had a rollercoaster season with ups and downs. But just right in time for the playoffs, the Bravos get defensive back Jalen Embry and one of their top pass rushers Alejandro Fernandez back from the injured reserve list. These two are my number one reason to still keep them above the Galaxy despite their loss against them, heading into Week 13 of the ELF 2024 season.

Previous Rank: 9

The Frankfurt Galaxy surprised everybody by winning against the Madrid Bravos! With 37 points produced by the offense, the German franchise had a productive day at office. But let’s not forget that Bravos running back Dwayne Obi is still injured and that Jalen Embry and Alejandro Fernandez will come off the injured reserve list this week.

After five overtimes, the Berlin Thunder were finally able to defeat their rival, the Wroclaw Panthers. Although they are already out of playoff contention, the German franchise is capable of winning. But close losses against Top 5 teams stopped them from reaching the postseason once again.

Previous Rank: 10

The Wroclaw Panthers lost a five-time overtime thriller against the Berlin Thunder. For now, they stay at ten after being officially out of playoff contention. Let’s see what they can do against the Frankfurt Galaxy in Week 13.

Previous Rank: 11

The Centurions stay at eleven. Their rollercoaster season took the next turn with a loss against the Paris Musketeers. Will they be able to come back against the Sea Devils this week?

Previous Rank: 12

The Helvetic Mercenaries enjoyed their bye week last weekend. They will face the Munich Ravens in Week 13.

Previous Rank: 13

The Hamburg Sea Devils have to stay at 13 if not fall at least one spot after their game against Rhein Fire. The Geman franchise were able to score only two points against the reigning Champion. The Sea Devils have attack the offseason after this season is over to rebuild their team.

Previous Rank: 14

The Milano Seamen enjoyed their bye week last weekend. They will face the Raiders Tirol in Week 13.

Previous Rank: 16

The Prague Lions were able to pull off their first win of the season last weekend against the Enthroners. With a final score of 9-6, the Czech franchise showed enough poise to make every game count, despite their previous 0-10 record.

Previous Rank: 15

The Enthroners lost their matchup against the Prague Lions which already primes them to fall one spot in my updated ranking. The Hungarian franchise did not find their game rhythm at all last weekend.

Previous Rank: 17

After another loss, the Barcelona Dragons have to stay at the bottom of my ranking. Their focus should already be on how to attack the offseason!
