Power Ranking - Musketeers fall, Vikings back in Top 3

A power ranking has each team ranked according to their current strength. After Week 10, the European League of Football is getting closer and closer to the playoffs. Who slides down and who moves up?

Let’s see where I rank each team going into Week 11 of the 2024 season and why!

Previous Ranking: 1

The Surge did what everyone expected them to do: dominate the Barcelona Dragons on the road. They stay at number one in my power ranking for good reason.

Previous Ranking: 2

Rhein Fire came out and rolled over the Paris Musketeers at home. In a highly-anticipated matchup, the Fire smoked the Musketeers who stood no chance with a final score of 38 - 6. The Fire are back and will stay a ELF Championship contender.

Previous Ranking: 4

The Vikings are back in my Top 3. They won their matchup against the Prague Lions after facing early difficulties in the first quarter. But at the end, the Vikings offense was just too much to take for the Czech defense. With Reece Horn, Touré, Pajarinen and many more offensive weapons, the Austrian franchise showed why they are one of the top teams in all of Europe.

Previous Ranking: 5

The Madrid Bravos are a great team. With Steven Duncan at quarterback, the Spanish franchise were lucky to find a quick replacement for the injured Chris Helbig to take over the most important position in American football. But not only their offense delivered against the Cologne Centurions, their defense was on point as well, allowing zero points to their German opponent. They deserve to jump up one spot after this dominant performance.

Previous Ranking: 3

The Paris Musketeers have to drop out of my Top 3. They were only able to score six points against the Rhein Fire on the road in Week 10 and looked sluggish at times when it came to penalties in crucial moments. They have to take this game as a wake-up call. Otherwise, the French franchise will have a tough time when it comes to securing a spot in the playoffs.

Previous Rank: 6

The Raiders stay at six after a solid game against the Mercenaries. Scoring 42 points shows how well the Austrian offense clicks. But quarterback N’Kosi Perry threw another interception that turned into a pick-six. The American signal-caller has yet to play a game in the European League of Football without an interception. If the Raiders learn how to protect the football on offense, they will become a very dangerous team to my Top 5.

Previous Rank: 7

The Ravens stay at seven at this point although they scored a whopping 69 points against the Milano Seamen. When you look at the final score of 69-30, you might think the Seamen were able to score some points in trash time in the fourth quarter. But the Ravens were not able to stop the Seamen from putting points on the board early in the game which came as a surprise for most fans. Let’s see what the Munich franchise will do against the Prague Lions.

Previous Rank: 8

The Thunder come out of a bye week. But no matter how much they have reloaded their batteries, they will have a tough time to reach the postseason because they don’t have it in their own hands anymore. With a record of 4-5, the Thunder have to win every game and the Raiders and Ravens have to lose games to have a shot. Will the Thunder beat the Paris Muskteers this week at home after their sluggish outing against the Rhein Fire in Week 10?

Previous Rank: 10

The Frankfurt Galaxy earned their way back to be at nine in my ranking after a close win against the Hamburg Sea Devils. The German franchise played well and used their strengths to beat the Hanseatic franchise in Hanover. With a final score for 40-23, the 2021 ELF Champion was able to take home the “W” in this prestige matchup.

Previous Rank: 11

The Wroclaw Panthers looked like they finally found their rhythm again. With 62 points on offense, the Polish franchise showed what they are capable of on offense. A strong running game by the Panthers was just too much for the Hungarian franchise that only managed to score 12 points in this Week 10 matchup.

Previous Rank: 9

The Cologne Centurions took a few steps back from their winning culture they established over the past few weeks. In a tough game against the Madrid Bravos, the German franchise was not able to protect the ball and find any rhythm on offense. To give up 37 points and then not being able to put any points on the scoreboard as well is a tough outcome.

Previous Rank: 13

The Helvetic Mercenaries lost again but managed to make it a tough game for their opponent once again. This past week, the Swiss franchise fought back against a good-looking Raiders team. Until the last quarter, the Mercenaries were able to be neck-to-neck with one of the top teams in this league. It seems like the Mercenaries are close to win some games but are still missing some pieces on their roster.

Previous Rank: 12

Another tough loss for the Hamburg Sea Devils. This time, the Hanseatic franchise played the Frankfurt Galaxy in Hanover and lost by 17 points. Next week, the Sea Devils will face the Madrid Bravos which will not be any easier for the German team.

Previous Rank: 14

The Enthroners got beat by the Panthers on the road. With a record of 2-7 in the Eastern Conference, the Hungarian franchise has not shot at the postseason anymore. But they could pick up another win against the Prague Lions in Week 12 after their upcoming bye week.

Previous Rank: 15

The Milano Seamen finally looked like they are dangerous on offense in various phases of the game against the Munich Ravens last weekend. Scoring 30 points against the German franchise is not easy. But giving up 69 points says everything you need to know about the Italian franchise. They have good playmakers on offense and defense but struggled all season long to use them and to find their groove.

Previous Rank: 16

The Prague Lions were dominated by the Vienna Vikings in Week 10. But the Czech franchise always manages to make it difficult for their opponents at the start of a game. Let’s see what they can do against the Ravens in Week 11!

Previous Rank: 17

The Barcelona Dragons got beat by my top team, the Stuttgart Surge. The team will now enjoy a bye week and then face the Munich Ravens in Week 12.
