Paris Musketeers re-sign star WR Austin Mitchell
The first import signing for the Paris Musketeers is a familiar face as they bring back standout receiver Austin Mitchell. The experienced playmaker is the first American to join the French squad now led by long time NFL coach Jack Del Rio.
Last season the 175cm speedster caught 65 passes for 1,010 yards and 14 touchdowns cementing himself as one of the league's top receivers, finishing fourth in receiving yards and first in touchdowns. In two playoff games Mitchell caugh another 7 passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns as the Musketeers beat the Munich Ravens in the Wildcard Round after a 10-2 regular season. On special teams the veteran had 637 total return yards putting him in the league's top five returners.
Before joining the Musketeers in 2024, Mitchell was statistically far and away from the German Football League top target racking up a league-best 94 catches, 1,627 yards, and 20 touchdowns, good for the top of the league in all three categories. The 5’9 speedster was a key part of the Dresden Monarchs semifinal run in his first season playing abroad.
Before coming to Germany, the Plaquemine, Louisiana native was a standout at Southeastern Louisiana University (FCS DI NCAA), racking up all-conference honors in 2019 and 2020. Mitchell finished his career with 2,735 yards and 24 touchdowns in five seasons, while also serving as his team’s punt and kick returner.
