Panthers sign homegrown college talent Ott Eric Ottender

The Wroclaw Panthers are bringing in some college football talent. Wide receiver Ott Eric Ottender signs a contract for the upcoming season.

After the European All-Star PPI camp in Essen, the now 23-year-old was selected as one of the five best offensive talents in Europe in the NFL Academy. Later, he was the first Estonian player to join an NCAA D1 program.

Ottender transferred to the University of Massachusetts. After his time at college, the Panthers made a direct move. Geographic proximity and the change in ELF rules, which recognizes players from the Baltic countries as “homegrown” for Poland, were key factors for his signing. “That was the final push to become a Panther,” Ottender explains.

NFL inspiration

He adds: “Wrocław was on my radar from the moment it was announced that an ELF team was being formed in Poland. After leaving UMass, I was contacted almost immediately. The professionalism with which the Panthers approached the talks appealed to me immediately. Our visions for football in Europe were a perfect match.”

On the field, Ottender impresses with his strong athleticism and good technique. During his training, he repeatedly watched the NFL. “I love watching Cooper Kupp for his technique and intelligence, Stefon Diggs for his ability to create big plays, and Davante Adams for his creativity. AJ Brown's raw athleticism really impresses me, too,” the young wideout explains his inspiration.

The Panthers can therefore look forward to a talented reinforcement. “I can't describe how excited I am to join Panthers Nation!”, says Ottender. He adds: “I'm going to give it my all every weekend, and I know my teammates will do the same. We're not playing for a division title or a spot in the playoffs. We're playing for a championship. Let's make history.”
