Panthers keep Special Team player of the Year Devan Burrell
Fans of the Wroclaw Panthers can be excited. The team continue to plan with Devan Burrell next season. The US import has extended his contract with the Panthers for another season.
In twelve games last season, he recorded 58 tackles, 2.5 for loss, forcing a fumble, 13 pass break-ups and two interceptions. One was even enough for a touchdown.
Thanks to his strong athleticism, Burrell is also used as a returner in the special team. A role in which he performed strongly. So strong that he was even named “Special Team player of the Year” at the ELF Honors.
Surrounded by good blockers, Burrell delivered incredible stats. He returned 18 punts for 222 yards, an average of 12.33 yards per attempt. He even returned one punt for a touchdown. Incidentally, he also achieved this trick with three kickoffs. So a total of four special team touchdowns for Burrel. Overall, he returned a total of 18 kickoffs for 670 yards.
