Nordic Storm sign Frederik Moss Nielsen as Special Teams Coordinator
Felix Pahl

The Nordic Storm have added an experienced coach to their staff by signing Frederik Moss Nielsen as their new Special Teams Coordinator. Nielsen brings years of experience as both a player and a coach, making him a strong addition to the team.
From quarterback to coach
Nielsen started playing football in 2008, mainly as a quarterback. He played for the Swedish U19 national team and even traveled to the USA in 2015 to compete at the JUCO level at Citrus College. However, a shoulder injury changed his career path. After switching to wide receiver, he finished his playing career in 2019.
During his recovery in the USA, Nielsen started coaching as a graduate assistant at Citrus College. This experience sparked his passion for coaching, and when he returned to Sweden in 2017, he continued his coaching journey.
Coaching experience and achievements
Since 2017, Nielsen has been coaching the Swedish Junior National Team in various roles, including QB coach, offensive coordinator, WR coach, and RB coach. He is currently the team’s Special Teams Coordinator. During his time with the team, Sweden won gold in the 2017 European Junior Championship, three silver medals (2019, 2022, 2023), and two Nordic Junior Championship titles (2018 & 2021). The team also finished fourth in the 2018 World Junior Championship in Mexico.
Nielsen has also worked with Sweden’s men's national team in different coaching roles from 2017 to 2018 and again in 2024.
Ready to bring "The Storm"
Nielsen is excited about the upcoming season and has a clear message for fans and opponents:
"I can guarantee one thing going into this season: we will bring THE STORM! The weather conditions won’t matter, playing at home or away won’t matter, and the opponent won’t matter. THE STORM is coming!"
With his experience and passion for the game, Nielsen is ready to help Nordic Storm make an impact this season.
