It was an evening of mixed emotions for German Felix Lepper. His name wasn’t called in the NFL Draft, so the IPP participant must now hope to make it into an NFL team through an alternative route.

The New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs have invited the former Hamburg Sea Devils player to tryouts.

"I'm speechless", said Lepper to RTL. The joy is immense.

"I’ll go there and show what I can"

New York and Kansas City. Two chances. Two opportunities to prove himself. The fact that his name wasn’t called in the Draft quickly vanishes.

Lepper remains remarkably calm and down to earth. "Of course, I would have liked to have been drafted", he said. "But then I’ll just go there and show what I can do."

In early May, he'll head back to the U.S. - first to Kansas City, then to New York. That’s where it will be decided whether the talent from Germany will actually become an NFL player.
