NFL Combine-attendee Lukas Ruoss signs with Rhein Fire
With Lukas Ruoss, the Rhein Fire sign one of the best linebacking prospects of Europe for the upcoming European League of Football season.
The Swiss has been playing football since 2010 and has already been able to compete for several large roles. His journey began with the Bern Grizzlies in Switzerland before moving on to West Hills College and American River College as well as Bemidji State University. The linebacker has played for the Swiss national team since 2012. Last season, he was already able to prove himself in the first German league and was invited to the NFL International Combine in London.
He is excited to start showing his talent on national television and on an even bigger stage. "The decision to join Rhein Fire was easy for me, because the combination of great players, coaches and fans at Rhein Fire is unique. My goal is to win our conference and then bring the Championship trophy to Düsseldorf." says Ruoss in the official press release.
Ruoss already trained in the offseason in Düsseldorf with personal trainer Chris Mohr, previously an NFL Europe and NFL player with the Seahawks. In Potsdam, he was the middle linebacker as well as the defensive captain, bringing experience and football knowledge. He joins Thomas Van Den Oort, Martin Pinter, Timo Jüngst, Emre Zengin who are already signed at linebacker.
