MVP Race - Jakeb Sullivan reminding the league of his talent

After three seasons and one championship in Frankfurt, Jakeb Sullivan, one of the original quarterbacks of the European League of Football made the move to join the Berlin Thunder this off-season.

Sullivan has one of the best resume's in the league, having thrown for 8,341 yards and accounting for 100 touchdowns (86 passing and 14 rushing) in his three-plus years in the European League of Football. Better yet, he’s also one of only two active quarterbacks in the league to have won a championship, hoisting the inaugual ELF championship trophy in 2021 with the Galaxy.

This season hasn’t completely gone his way at halfway point, with Berlin having a 4-3 record. The Thunder have lost three games in tight contests against the Rhein Fire, Vienna Vikings, and Wroclaw Panthers. Despite the three lossses, Sullivan has certainly reminded fans, players, and coaches that he’s still one of the league’s best quarterbacks.

Sullivan’s stats speak for themselves

This season Sullivan leads the league in passing yards with 1,697 yards and is second with 16 touchdowns, while completing 62% of his passes. The 30-year old passer is still a threat to run as well, routinely extending plays with his legs and also adding another 133 yards and a touchdown on the ground this year.

Berlin is in the playoff hunt

The 4-3 Thunder have their work cut out for them this season with one of the toughest schedules in the league. Sullivan and his squad hope to pull off some upsets and sneak into the playoffs as they will face the Musketeers, Vikings, the Musketeers again, as well as another matchup with Wroclaw, and the Rhein Fire. In order to get into the playoffs they will need to beat some of the top teams down the second half stretch.
