Munich Ravens sign GFL tackling leader Amin Black
Amin Black will lead the Munich Ravens at middle linebacker in 2023 in the European League of Football.
The Munich Ravens fill their last U.S. import position with a playmaker for their defense: Linebacker Amin Black was not only an exceptional player at Villanova University, but also led the GFL as the league's best tackler last season. Black was also considered by many other teams in the European League of Football, also showed up in the Sea Devils' combine.
The Philadelphia native excelled for the Marburg Mercenaries in the GFL this past season with 112 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, six sacks and two interceptions in ten games for a rather weak team. Sean Shelton, Director Sports Operations of the Munich Ravens, is excited about the signing of the linebacker: "Amin is one of the most versatile linebackers I have seen. He can take us to a new level in both run and pass defense, and even as a pass rusher. I'm looking forward to watching Amin play football."
At Villanova in NCAA Division I, Amin Black posted 182 tackles, 23 tackles forloss, seven and a half sacks and one interception in 40 games. The linebacker, only standing at 1,78 m was one of the best defensive weapons last season. "I love challenges. And the challenge of helping a newly formed team succeed convinced me to sign with the Munich Ravens," Black said.
