The Munich Ravens are making major moves on defense! With Christoph Nitzlnader, one of Europe’s most talented cornerbacks is joining the Bavarian powerhouse.

Growing up a Raider

The Austrian cornerback started his football career at the age of six with the Tirol Raiders. Nitzlnader won the under-18 championship in his final youth season, before making his pro debut for the Raiders’ AFL team. During his first AFL season, the Austrian recorded 11 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass breakups, winning the championship. 

Nitzlnader made his ELF debut in 2022, playing well and earning himself a Rookie of the Year nomination. In 2023, the Austrian took the next step, recording 52 total tackles, 1.5 TFL, a blocked kick, two interceptions and nine pass breakups.

Joining familiar faces

Now, Nitzlnader is not only joining one of the best defensive minds but plenty of familiar faces. Sports Director Sean Shelton, Offensive Coordinator Kyle Callahan and General Manager Sebastian Stolz have all worked with Nitzlnader before and were a big part of his decision.
