Munich Ravens re-sign homegrown standout Johannes Zirngibl

It’s the first extension of the Munich Ravens in the off-season, and an important one. With Johannes Zirngibl, Kendral Ellison’s defense gets a big re-signing for 2024 and 2025, as the Ravens announced. In twelve games, the German 2-meter monster had 5.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss (5th in the league), one first fumble and three fumble recoveries. The just 24-year-old Bavarian showed off in his first year in the ELF. Coaches even named him the Defensive MVP for the team in 2023.

Johannes Zirngibl: "We have managed to put Munich and Bavaria on the map of the European League of Football. It was a great first season, but now I want more."

A new chief in town

Sean Shelton, Sports Director Munich Ravens: "Keeping Johannes was extremely important for us. He played a dominant 2023 season and we look forward to him continuing to cause plenty of trouble in the opposing backfield over the next two years."

Kendral Ellison, now head coach of the Munich Ravens, managed to organize the best rush defense and 1st ranked defense in sacks in all three years with the Sea Devils. Zirngibl, who mainly played inside for the Ravens, could have even more production in 2024.
