Mercenaries sign Norwood – QB Weed placed on injured reserve

The Helvetic Mercenaries have suffered another setback after losing their fourth game in a row. Starting quarterback Isaiah Weed has been placed on Injured Reserve and will miss at least the next three weeks.
Weed played an important role in both the passing and running game for the Swiss franchise. So far this season, he has thrown for 722 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He also added 251 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, and 5 fumbles.
Norwood returns to the ELF
To replace Weed, the Mercenaries have signed Josiah Norwood — a familiar name in the European League of Football. Norwood played for the Wrocław Panthers last season, where he was used as both a wide receiver and quarterback.
In seven games, Norwood recorded 538 passing yards and 7 touchdowns, along with 323 rushing yards and 4 rushing scores. He also had 61 receiving yards, showing his all-around athletic ability.

Hoping for a turnaround
The Mercenaries are hoping that Norwood can spark their offense and help them get their first win of the season. His first chance to lead the team will come this weekend in a tough matchup against the Raiders Tirol.
With his dual-threat skills and experience in the league, Norwood could bring new energy to the team as they try to turn their season around.
