Matchups to watch in Week 11
The Hamburg Sea Devils have revealed a weakness in recent games: their rushing defense. In the last game, Sandro Platzgummer and Matthew McKay of the Frankfurt Galaxy alone managed to gain over 200 rushing yards against the Sea Devils. This weakness has been consistently exposed in previous games, especially against dual-threat quarterbacks. The Bravos not only have the fifth-best rushing offense in the league, but they also have Steven Duncan, a quarterback who can run and gain yards when he doesn't find an open receiver. If the Sea Devils can't manage this, it won't be a close game against the Bravos.
In the last encounter, the Cologne Centurions were the winners. They essentially ran over the Galaxy defense with four rushing touchdowns, controlling the game, especially in terms of time. With Gerald Ameln injured, the Centurions have lost their best rusher, putting more responsibility on Isaiah Weed. In the previous game, he had two turnovers, which can't happen this time. He needs to show his passing threat, especially in the red zone. If they can't establish a passing game, it will be tough for the Centurions.
The first encounter almost saw a huge comeback. After a 0-28 halftime lead for the Paris Musketeers, the Berlin Thunder almost turned the game around, ending 27-35. Zach Edwards was the key player for the Musketeers again. With 182 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, along with 140 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, Edwards was crucial. Berlin Thunder needs to make Edwards one-dimensional and force him into mistakes, similar to how Rhein Fire managed last week. If Berlin can't keep Edwards in the pocket and stop his running game, it will be very difficult. They also need to perform well for all four quarters, as weak starts or finishes have often been the reason they lost games.
Since joining the Munich Ravens, Malik Stanley has been putting up impressive stats week after week, becoming the main target for quarterback Chad Jeffries. In the last game, he shined with 4 receiving touchdowns, playing a key role in the Ravens' strong offense. The Prague Lions, looking for their first win of the season, will be a tough opponent. With cornerback Daniel Wright placed on the IR list and Artie Henry activated, Henry will likely be tasked with covering Stanley. If he can take Stanley out of the game, the most important factor in the Ravens' offense is neutralized, giving the Lions a chance for an upset. However, if Stanley creates several big plays again, it will be a long day for the Lions.
