Matchups to watch at Musketeers vs. Vikings
As in every game, there are key matchups between position groups in the Semifinals that could decide the outcome. Let’s take a look at the matchups to watch at Musketeers vs. Vikings.
The most decisive duel in this match will likely be between the Vikings' defensive line and Zach Edwards. Thanks to his dual-threat ability, Edwards can run when his passing options are covered. He’s shown this ability impressively multiple times during the regular season. Despite being a quarterback, Edwards finished as the fourth-best rusher in the league. So far, only Rhein Fire has been able to control Edwards, mainly through disciplined defensive play. Their defensive line prevented Edwards from running, forcing him to act as a pure pocket passer. This is not Edwards’ strength and could be a key part of the Vikings' game plan to win this match.

The Vikings' strength lies in their passing game, and just before the semifinals, they reactivated two strong receivers, Jordan Bouah and Kimi Linnainmaa, from IR. In addition, they have Noah Toure and Reece Horn as pass options for Vikings quarterback Ben Holmes, both of whom are in the top 10 of the league for receiving yards and touchdowns this season. It will be a tough challenge for the Musketeers' defense, as they need to choose the right coverage for these various receivers. With Ben Holmes, they face a quarterback who can deliver the ball perfectly to his receivers. If the Musketeers can’t control or at least limit the Vikings' wide receivers, it could be a difficult game for the Paris franchise.
In the Paris Musketeers' game against the Munich Ravens, it was clear how important strong special teams play can be. Musketeers returner Austin Mitchell repeatedly put his team in great field positions, allowing them to make short drives. This game highlighted the Musketeers' potential in this area, which the Vikings need to be prepared for.
