Madrid wins first International Game
Final Score: 63-13
The first International Game of the European League of Football ended with a big win for the Madrid Bravos against the Hamburg Sea Devils. Since the Bravos were hoping to make the playoffs and had a points disadvantage compared to the Raiders Tirol and Munich Ravens, they needed to score as many points as possible—and they did.
It was clear early in the game that the Bravos were determined to fight for the playoffs. They played fast and strong to score points. By the end of the first quarter, the score was 14-0, but the Bravos weren’t done yet. Their defense also had a great day, keeping the Sea Devils' drives short so the offense could quickly get the ball back. Although the Sea Devils managed to score 6 points by halftime, the Bravos added another 22 points in the second quarter, making the halftime score 36-6.
The second half showed a similar pattern. The Bravos' rushing game was unstoppable for the Hamburg franchise. They racked up more than 350 rushing yards, running through the Sea Devils' defense. The Bravos scored another 27 points in the second half, leading to a final score of 63-13.
Despite the big win, the Bravos still have to wait and see. If the Raiders Tirol win a close game against the Munich Ravens, the Bravos will miss the playoffs. For the Hamburg Sea Devils, this International Game was their last of the season, as their record wasn’t enough to qualify for the playoffs.
