Madrid Bravos signs Sio Sonny Nofoagatoto’a

The Madrid Bravos have added a powerful new piece to their defensive line, signing Sio Sonny Nofoagatoto’a, a former NCAA Division I standout and two-time member of the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List.
Strong college resume
Nofoagatoto’a played for Indiana University, where he appeared in 42 games over four seasons. During his time with the Hoosiers, he recorded 47 total tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and was known for his strength and discipline at the line of scrimmage. In his senior season in 2022, he started all 12 games and was a consistent contributor against top competition, including teams like Michigan and Penn State.

International roots and versatile background
Born in New Zealand, Nofoagatoto’a moved to American Samoa in 2008 and later to Australia in 2015. He attended Clearwater Academy International in Florida for high school, where he dominated with 135 tackles, 16.5 sacks, and 54 tackles for loss in just two seasons. He is also the first player from American Samoa to suit up for Indiana University since 1999.
A big addition for Madrid
With his international experience and physical presence, the 6'2", 305-pound defensive tackle is expected to make an immediate impact for the Bravos. His ability to anchor the line and disrupt opposing offenses gives Madrid a major boost as they push forward in the 2025 ELF season.
